This is one of the most intense weeks of the year, and almost all of it happens underneath the surface.
Four things land between Friday and Sunday: The Sun enters Scorpio. Venus meets the Sun in a Cazimi. Mercury stations retrograde. And the Full Moon in Taurus arrives. Any one of those would define a week. Together they create a threshold.
Here is how to hold it: The first half of the week is wide open and oddly quiet. The Moon moves through Aquarius Sunday night through Wednesday morning, then through Pisces. These are preparation days. The sky is giving you room to think and dream before it asks you to go deep.
Then, on Friday the Sun crosses into Scorpio at 2:38 AM and the season changes. Libra has spent four weeks teaching you about how you interact with other people. Scorpio asks what is actually true underneath the agreements. That same evening Venus meets the Sun at the very first degree of Scorpio, which is the exact midpoint of the Venus retrograde and the moment a new Venus cycle begins. Like a seed, it does its work in the dark, unseen.
Just after midnight, Mercury stations retrograde at 20º Scorpio, and now both Mercury and Venus are moving backward together until November 13. This is a review window, not a punishment. Sunday night the Full Moon in Taurus arrives at 9:12 PM and pulls everything back into your body, your resources, and what is actually solid.
Plant nothing new this week. Finish something instead.
🌘♑ Sunday, October 18th
- First Quarter Moon at 9:13 AM PT in 25º Capricorn
- Moon enters Aquarius at 6:41 PM PT
- Moon in Aquarius sextiles Neptune in Aries at 11:25 PM PT
The First Quarter Moon arrives in the morning and asks the checkpoint question. Eight days ago at the New Moon in Libra you named something. Today the Moon squares the Sun and the sky wants to know what you have actually done about it.
In Capricorn, that question is practical. Not how do you feel about the goal, but where is it on your calendar? Give yourself an honest hour with it this morning. In the evening the Moon moves into Aquarius and the pressure lifts. Late at night it sextiles Neptune and your imagination opens back up. Today is a day of two halves, and both of them belong to you.
What did you name eight days ago, and what is the next dated step toward it?
🦇 Monday, October 19th
- Moon in Aquarius
- Moon in Aquarius conjunct Pluto in Aquarius at 12:49 AM PT
- Moon in Aquarius squares Venus in Scorpio at 1:52 AM PT
- Moon in Aquarius trines Uranus in Gemini at 4:52 AM PT
- Moon in Aquarius sextiles Saturn in Aries at 2:52 PM PT
- Moon in Aquarius opposes Mars in Leo at 7:25 PM PT
- Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius at 11:56 PM PT
Most of this day's action happens in the overnight, which means it might show up as a strange dream or an early waking with your mind already running. The Moon meets Pluto and then squares Venus retrograde an hour later. Something about a person or a desire surfaces while you are asleep.
The Moon then sextiles Saturn and you can get real things done. In the evening it opposes Mars and the energy spikes, so if you feel restless, move your body instead of sending the text.
Later, Venus retrograde squares Pluto. This is the heavy one. Venus square Pluto asks about power inside connection. Who is holding it, what you traded for it, and whether the thing you call love is sometimes a strategy for safety. It is not asking you to blow anything up. It is asking you to see clearly.
Where in your relationships are you managing instead of being honest?
🔊 Tuesday, October 20th
- Moon in Aquarius
- Moon in Aquarius squares Mercury in Scorpio at 10:42 AM PT
- Moon in Aquarius opposes Jupiter in Leo at 3:49 PM PT
The Moon squares Mercury and your head and your heart want different things. Aquarius wants the wide view. Mercury in Scorpio wants the one buried detail. Let both be true and do not force a resolution.
In the afternoon the Moon opposes Jupiter and whatever you are feeling gets louder. Jupiter does not create the feeling. It just turns up the volume. If something seems enormous, write it down and look at it again on Thursday. Most of what feels huge today will be the right size by then.
This is also a good day to notice how much you are talking yourself out of. Mercury is about to station retrograde and these last days of forward motion are useful for saying the clear thing while saying it is still easy.
What have you been meaning to say while it is still simple to say it?
💧 Wednesday, October 21st
- Moon in Aquarius trines the Sun in Libra at 1:42 AM PT
- Moon enters Pisces at 5:36 AM PT
- Moon in Pisces trines Venus in Scorpio at 9:51 AM PT
- Moon in Pisces squares Uranus in Gemini at 3:07 PM PT
The Moon enters Pisces before dawn and the last two days of Libra season turn soft. Pisces is the final sign, the one that dissolves the edges, and it arrives right as the sky is preparing to go underwater anyway.
Mid morning the Moon trines Venus retrograde and this is the most tender aspect of the week. Water meeting water, with Venus looking backward. Something old and good comes to mind. A song, a person, a version of yourself you have not thought about in a while. Let it be sweet. You do not have to do anything with it.
The afternoon square to Uranus can scatter you, so protect anything that needs focus. Otherwise, treat today as the exhale before the threshold. Rest counts as preparation.
What is coming back to you right now, and what does it feel like to just let it be here?
🧸 Thursday, October 22nd
- Moon in Pisces
- Moon in Pisces trines Mercury in Scorpio at 8:31 PM PT
The quietest day of the week, and the last full day of Libra season. One aspect, late in the evening, when the Moon in Pisces trines Mercury in Scorpio.
Use that. A water trine between the Moon and Mercury is the sky handing you words for something you have only been able to feel. This is the night for the journal page, the long walk, the conversation that starts after everyone else has gone to bed. Mercury stations retrograde in two days, so the clarity you reach tonight is clarity you will be circling back to for the next three weeks. Make it count.
And know that tomorrow the season changes. Whatever Libra has been teaching you about balance, fairness, and other people, let it finish today.
If you could say it perfectly, what would you want someone to understand?
☀️♏ Friday, October 23rd
- Moon enters Aries at 12:54 PM PT
- Sun enters Scorpio at 2:38 AM PT (Scorpio Season begins)
- Moon in Aries conjunct Neptune in Aries at 4:54 PM PT
- Moon in Aries sextiles Pluto in Aquarius at 6:21 PM PT
- Sun in Scorpio conjunct Venus in Scorpio at 8:44 PM PT (the Venus Cazimi at 0º Scorpio)
- Moon in Aries sextiles Uranus in Gemini at 9:38 PM PT
Welcome to Scorpio season. ♏
The Sun crosses into Scorpio at 2:38 AM and the next four weeks ask a different question than the last four did. Libra wanted harmony. Scorpio wants the truth, even when the truth costs something. This is the season of what is underneath. Your power, your shadow, your money, your intimacy, and everything you have been too polite to name.
The Sun meets Venus at the first degree of Scorpio while Venus is retrograde. This is a Cazimi, which means Venus is sitting in the heart of the Sun. It is the exact midpoint of the whole Venus retrograde and the point where the old Venus cycle ends and a new one begins.
You will probably not feel fireworks. A Cazimi is quiet by nature. A seed goes into the ground in the dark and nothing visible happens for a while. What you can do is be deliberate about it. Sit down and get honest about love, worth, money, and beauty. What has this Venus retrograde been showing you since early October? What are you finished with? What do you actually want to be true about how you give and receive? Write it somewhere you will find again in the spring.
The universe is inviting you to plant something in the dark and trust it anyway.
What is the new thing you want to be true about love and worth, now that you know what the old thing cost you?
🌀 Saturday, October 24th
- Moon in Aries
- Mercury stations retrograde at 12:06 AM PT at 20º Scorpio
- Moon in Aries conjunct Saturn in Aries at 6:06 AM PT
- Moon in Aries trines Mars in Leo at 3:05 PM PT
Six minutes after midnight, Mercury stations retrograde at 20º Scorpio. It stays retrograde until November 13, and for the first time in a long while both Mercury and Venus are moving backward at once.
Here is what I want you to hear: Mercury retrograde is not coming for you. It is coming for your story. In Scorpio, it goes after the narrative you have been repeating about why something happened, who was at fault, and what it means about you. Over the next three weeks you are going to remember things differently than you remembered them in September. That is the point. Scorpio does not do surface revision. It does excavation.
Practically, back up your files, read the contract twice, and expect the old message to resurface. Spiritually, let the story loosen. You are allowed to be wrong about what something meant.
The day itself is sturdy. The Moon meets Saturn in the morning, which gives the day some spine, and trines Mars in the afternoon, which gives it fuel. Good hours for finishing something physical before the fog rolls in.
What story about your own past are you ready to let get more complicated?
🌝♉ Sunday, October 25th
- Venus re-enters Libra retrograde at 2:10 AM PT
- Moon in Aries trines Jupiter in Leo at 5:37 AM PT
- Moon in Aries opposes Venus in Libra at 3:59 PM PT
- Moon enters Taurus at 4:35 PM PT
- Full Moon in Taurus at 9:12 PM PT, 2 degrees Taurus
- Moon in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius at 9:45 PM PT
This is a packed day. In the early hours, Venus backs out of Scorpio and returns to Libra, where it will finish its retrograde. The deep digging of the last three weeks hands off to something a bit gentler. Venus in Libra wants fairness, beauty, and repair, and it is going back over Libra ground it already covered this fall to get it right.
Then at 9:12 PM the Full Moon in Taurus arrives at 2º, opposite the Sun in Scorpio.
This is the exhale the week has been building toward. Scorpio is intensity, merging, and what is hidden. Taurus is the opposite shore. It is your body, your senses, your bank account, your garden, and the simple question of whether your life actually feels good to live in. After an intense week, the Full Moon brings you back down to earth and asks what is real and what is yours.
Full Moons are for release. With Pluto squaring the Moon just after, there is some pressure in the letting go, so do not be surprised if the release has some grief in it. Name what you are putting down. A habit around money. A way of holding on. A standard that was never yours. Say it out loud, then do something physical with your hands to seal it. Taurus does not believe anything until the body believes it.
What would you have to release in order for your actual daily life to feel good?
