Last week the sky did everything at once. This week it slows down, and that is the gift.

The Full Moon in Taurus arrives Sunday night and then the Moon spends the next seven days getting smaller. That is the whole shape of this week. One big release at the front, and then a long, slow exhale that carries you to the Last Quarter Moon the following Sunday. There are only two major planetary aspects in the entire stretch. The sky is not asking you to do anything. It is asking you to finish.

Mercury and Venus are both still retrograde, and they stay that way until November 13. Venus backed into Libra on Sunday morning and is going over old ground about fairness, beauty, and repair. Mercury is deep in Scorpio digging through your story. Neither of them wants new plans from you. They want you to go back and get something right.

Then Saturday is Halloween, and the Moon is in Cancer for almost all of it. This is the night the old traditions call the thinnest point in the year, the turn into the dark half. With the Sun in Scorpio and the Moon in your most tender sign, it is a real one. Light a candle for someone you miss.

This is a week for closing, not opening. Plant in November. Release now.

🌝♉ Sunday, October 25th

  • Venus re-enters Libra retrograde at 2:10 AM PT
  • Moon in Aries trines Jupiter in Leo at 5:37 AM PT
  • Moon in Aries opposes Venus in Libra at 3:59 PM PT
  • Moon enters Taurus at 4:35 PM PT
  • Full Moon in Taurus at 9:12 PM PT, 2 degrees Taurus
  • Moon in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius at 9:44 PM PT

The Full Moon in Taurus arrives at 9:12 PM at 2 degrees, opposite the Sun in Scorpio, and it is the exhale this whole stretch has been building toward.

Scorpio is depth, merging, and everything happening underneath. Taurus is the opposite shore. It is your body, your senses, your money, your home, your garden, and the plain question of whether your actual life feels good to be inside of. After a week of retrogrades and cazimis and planets moving backward, this Full Moon brings you back down to the ground and asks what is real and what is truly yours.

Full Moons are for release. Pluto squares the Moon just after, so there may be some weight in the letting go. Do not be surprised if the release has grief in it. Name what you are putting down. A habit around money. A way of gripping. A standard that was never yours in the first place. Say it out loud, then do something with your hands to seal it, because Taurus does not believe anything until the body believes it.

Earlier in the day Venus backs out of Scorpio and returns to Libra, where it will finish its retrograde. The deep digging of the last three weeks hands off to something gentler. Venus in Libra wants fairness and repair, and it is going back over ground it already covered this fall to get it right.

What would you have to release in order for your daily life to feel good to live in?

💢 Monday, October 26th

  • Moon in Taurus
  • Sun in Scorpio squares Pluto in Aquarius at 5:11 AM PT
  • Moon in Taurus squares Mars in Leo at 7:18 PM PT

The Sun squares Pluto before dawn and sets the tone for the whole of Scorpio season. This is the power aspect. It surfaces the question of who is actually in control of your life, where you are holding on too tightly, and what you are afraid would happen if you let go.

Sun square Pluto often shows up as a day where something small makes you unreasonably angry. That is useful information. The size of the reaction tells you where the real thing is buried. If you find yourself in a standoff today, whether with a person or with yourself, step back and ask what you are protecting.

The Moon is still in Taurus, still holding the Full Moon from last night, so your body will carry whatever this day stirs. In the evening it squares Mars and the restlessness spikes. Walk it off. Taurus heals through the physical.

What are you trying to control right now, and what would it cost you to loosen your grip?

💬 Tuesday, October 27th

  • Moon in Taurus
  • Moon in Taurus opposes Mercury in Scorpio at 2:11 AM PT
  • Moon in Taurus squares Jupiter in Leo at 7:51 AM PT
  • Moon enters Gemini at 6:02 PM PT
  • Moon in Gemini sextiles Neptune in Aries at 9:33 PM PT
  • Moon in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius at 11:05 PM PT

The morning is heavier than the evening. The Moon opposes Mercury retrograde in the middle of the night and then squares Jupiter, which can make a feeling arrive at full volume before you have had a chance to examine it. Whatever seems enormous this morning, write it down and look at it again Thursday. Most of it will be the right size by then.

Then the Moon moves into Gemini and the week changes texture. The heaviness lifts. Curiosity comes back. Late at night the Moon sextiles Neptune and trines Pluto, which is a soft and powerful combination, the kind of night where an answer arrives sideways while you are doing something else entirely.

This is a good evening to talk to someone. Mercury is retrograde, so the conversation that matters most is probably one you have already had once before.

What have you been treating as enormous that might just need a few days of distance?

💡 Wednesday, October 28th

  • Moon in Gemini
  • Moon in Gemini conjunct Uranus in Gemini at 1:52 AM PT
  • Moon in Gemini sextiles Saturn in Aries at 9:31 AM PT
  • Moon in Gemini sextiles Mars in Leo at 10:06 PM PT

The Moon meets Uranus in Gemini in the early hours and you may wake up with an idea that was not there when you went to bed. Uranus is the planet of the unexpected and it has been in Gemini since April, rewriting how we talk, think, and connect. When the Moon crosses it, the lightning is brief but real. Keep something next to your bed to write on.

The rest of the day is one of the most workable of the week. The Moon sextiles Saturn mid morning, which gives your scattered Gemini thoughts somewhere solid to land, and sextiles Mars at night for energy. If there is one day this week to actually get something done, this is it.

Use it on something unfinished rather than something new. The sky is still in review mode, and the most satisfying work right now is clearing the pile you have been avoiding.

What have you been circling for weeks that you could close out today?

🌻 Thursday, October 29th

  • Moon in Gemini
  • Moon in Gemini sextiles Jupiter in Leo at 9:17 AM PT
  • Moon in Gemini trines Venus in Libra at 2:43 PM PT
  • Moon enters Cancer at 7:06 PM PT
  • Moon in Cancer squares Neptune in Aries at 10:35 PM PT

The Moon sextiles Jupiter in the morning, which opens your optimism, and trines Venus retrograde in Libra in the afternoon, which is the warmest aspect of the entire week. Air meeting air, with Venus looking backward. Something old and good surfaces. A friendship you let drift. A person who felt easy to be around. A version of yourself that felt magnetic.

Venus retrograde in Libra is going back over relationship ground to repair what got left unfinished this fall. If there is an apology you owe or one you have been waiting to accept, this afternoon is the opening. It will not feel heavy. That is the point.

In the evening the Moon moves into Cancer and the weekend begins to feel tender. The late square to Neptune can blur your boundaries, so if you are around people tonight, notice when you have had enough.

Who comes to mind right now, and what would it take to reach out?

💌 Friday, October 30th

  • Moon in Cancer
  • Moon in Cancer trines the Sun in Scorpio at 6:55 AM PT
  • Mercury in Scorpio squares Mars in Leo at 10:20 AM PT
  • Moon in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries at 10:35 AM PT

The day opens beautifully. The Moon in Cancer trines the Sun in Scorpio just before 7:00 AM, water meeting water, your feelings and your purpose pointing the same direction. The first hours of this day are worth waking up for.

Then mid morning it sharpens. Mercury retrograde squares Mars, and this is the one aspect of the week that can actually cause damage if you let it. Mercury in Scorpio knows exactly where the soft spot is. Mars in Leo wants to be right out loud. Together they produce the sentence you cannot take back.

Here is the practical instruction. Between about 9:00 AM and noon, do not send it. Write the whole thing if you need to, then leave it in drafts. Mercury is retrograde, which means you are working with half the information and an old version of the story. The Moon squaring Saturn at the same hour adds a layer of frustration and self doubt on top. None of this is a good foundation for a confrontation.

By afternoon it passes. Make the evening gentle. Tomorrow deserves a rested version of you.

What do you want to say right now, and what happens if you wait until Monday to say it?

👻 Saturday, October 31st

  • Moon in Cancer
  • Moon in Cancer trines Mercury in Scorpio at 12:01 AM PT
  • Moon in Cancer squares Venus in Libra at 2:59 PM PT
  • Moon enters Leo at 9:18 PM PT

Happy Halloween and Samhain. 🎃

The Moon is in Cancer for nearly all of this day, the Sun is deep in Scorpio, and both Mercury and Venus are retrograde. If you have ever wondered why the veil is said to be thin on this night, look at that combination. Water, depth, and two planets turned back toward the past. The whole sky is facing the other direction.

Just after midnight the Moon trines Mercury retrograde, which is the sky handing you words for something you have only been able to feel. Whatever surfaced in the small hours, honor it.

The old traditions marked tonight as the turn from the light half of the year into the dark half, the night to remember the people who came before you. You can celebrate however you want, and you can also take ten minutes of it to do something real. Light a candle for someone you miss. Say their name. Set a plate, look at an old photograph, cook the thing they used to make. Cancer is the sign of ancestry and belonging and it is holding the Moon all day. This is the most natural night of the year for it.

Mid afternoon the Moon squares Venus retrograde and plans can get tangled, so hold the evening loosely. Then at 9:18 PM the Moon enters Leo and whatever you are doing gets brighter and louder. The second half of this night is the fun one.

Who are you carrying with you, and how do you want to honor them tonight?

🌒♌ Sunday, November 1st

  • Moon in Leo
  • Moon in Leo trines Neptune in Aries at 12:50 AM PT
  • Moon in Leo opposes Pluto in Aquarius at 1:59 AM PT
  • Moon in Leo sextiles Uranus in Gemini at 4:15 AM PT
  • Moon in Leo trines Saturn in Aries at 12:08 PM PT
  • Last Quarter Moon at 12:28 PM PT, 9 degrees Leo
  • Moon in Leo squares Mercury in Scorpio at 10:25 PM PT

At 12:28 PM the Last Quarter Moon arrives at 9º Leo. This is the final checkpoint of the lunar cycle, the phase that asks what you are carrying into the New Moon that does not belong there. The New Moon in Scorpio is one week out, on November 8, and it is the most powerful manifestation point of the season. What you release today is what makes room for what you plant then.

In Leo, the question is about pride. What are you still performing? Where are you holding a version of yourself together for an audience that stopped watching a long time ago? Leo is not vanity. Leo is the heart. The Last Quarter Moon here asks you to drop whatever is costing you energy to keep up, so that what is actually yours has somewhere to live.

The Moon trines Saturn twenty minutes before the exact phase, and that is a real gift. It means the release can be clean and structured rather than dramatic. Sit down, name the three things you are done carrying, and write them somewhere you will see again on the eighth.

Late tonight the Moon squares Mercury retrograde, so the old story may come back for one more round. You do not have to argue with it. You just have to notice that it is old.

What are you still holding up for an audience that is no longer watching?
