Astro-Forecast for Libra Season

September 22nd: Sun enters Libra

From the earthly vibrations of Virgo, we meet Libra. Ruled by Air, Libra connects us with others. This energy takes the focus off us and reminds us that we live in a world filled with other beings. These other people can help us grow; admit when we’ve been wrong; and, most importantly, help us enjoy the wonders of life. The people we choose as partners play pivotal roles in our energetic evolution. If we are open to it, our partners can teach us things about ourselves we may never have learned without them. This season is a time to embrace the people in your life and learn together.

September 22nd: Venus enters Scorpio

The ruler of Libra, Venus, enters Scorpio less than 24 hours after Libra season began. This signals a major shift for our relationships over the coming month. Venus in Libra for the previous several weeks was shining at its lightest and brightest…but in Scorpio, we’re ready to go deep. Hidden agendas in relationships may be revealed and secrets will no longer be buried. It’s important to read between the lines in your relationships at this time and notice any unfolding power dynamics.

September 24th: Last Quarter Moon in Cancer

The last quarter Moon is always a moment of brave surrender, and in Cancer, it’s especially emotional. Now is the time to clear any excessive emotional debris before the New Moon arrives– and even more so because it happens to be an eclipse. Cancer is concerned with family dynamics, so notice if anything particularly difficult is surfacing around this time ready to be felt so you can move on. Emotions have a way of manifesting physically in the body and now, in the midst of eclipse season, is a potent time to release them.

September 26th: Mercury enters Libra

Mercury is the planet concerned with communication, and in Libra, it’s very placid. This is the energy of peace keeping, but also the law and justice as it’s concerned with ensuring fairness is maintained. Conversations might be more poised and avoid hurting people’s feelings…but remember Venus is still in Scorpio, which is much less concerned about tact! It will be very important to not push things under the rug and try to pretend things are ok if they aren’t. While diplomacy and playing fair is valuable, there are also things lurking under the surface within relationships right now that need to be discussed so balance can return.

October 2nd: New Moon Solar eclipse in Libra (10°)

We’ve already experienced a few eclipses in Libra, so this energy will be familiar. A new moon typically wants us to plant seeds, but during an eclipse portal, it’s about letting the Universe take the wheel. It’s more important to listen now— specifically within your relationships, rather than trying to manifest change yourself. Fate is at play at this time, especially in your Libra ruled house. Pay close attention to the committed partnerships around you on the days leading up to and just after this time. Especially because the ruler of this eclipse, Venus, is currently in Scorpio, it’s about going deep within relationships and clearing out any hidden cobwebs that could be rotting the integrity of the relationship. This is a time to be brave, and to brace for secrets being revealed that need to see the light of day.

 October 9th: Jupiter Stations Retrograde

When a planet stations retrograde, it pulls our focus and the key words associated with that planet are highlighted. With Jupiter we think about expanding, belief systems, and unapologetic exploration. Because Jupiter is a transpersonal planet, we can feel the shift both personally and collectively. In your personal life, think about how you’re taking up space and when you feel most confident in your beliefs. Collectively, we’re revisiting our abundance mindsets and, because Jupiter is in Gemini, how that relates to our communication styles and the information we’re digesting.

October 10th: First Quarter Moon in Capricorn

The first quarter moon is a time to hustle. And in Capricorn, especially, it’s about putting in hard work that you want to pay off long term. The interesting thing about this First Quarter Moon is that Pluto stations direct tomorrow in the same sign, indicating a profound shift building, permanently, in this area of life. We’ve been transforming the Capricorn area of our life for more than a decade and are coming to the end of the journey. Use this time to reflect on what you’ve built, what you’re looking to build, and how these structures will support you long term.

October 11th: Pluto direct at 29° Capricorn

When a planet stations, either retrograde or direct— it gets our attention. When a planet stations at 29°, the final degree of Capricorn, things can be even more noticeable and the change more extreme. There’s a powerful intensity about this degree, as it’s the last stop before a planet enters a new sign. And because Pluto is already the most intense planet, and it’s eclipse season…this moment is loud. Notice where Saturn is in your chart to see any overlapping themes of hard work, big lessons, and rebirth around this time. The Capricorn area of your life has been undergoing a slow process of rebirth since 2009. That chapter is coming to a final close next year– and themes that you’re moving on from could be highlighted around this time.

October 12th: Jupiter in Gemini sextile Chiron in Aries

Sandwiched between two very intense Plutonian themed transits we have Jupiter aspecting Chiron. Jupiter makes whatever it touches BIGGER and when it reaches out to Chiron, that means our own private wounds. Chiron is the “wounded healer” asteroid that, through showing us what hurts, allows us to witness it and become stronger to heal others with similar ailments. Jupiter in Gemini is a fan of talk therapy— so this might look like going to therapy. Which is perfect timing for the Mercury in Scorpio transit! We’re all getting more curious about our wounds and more open to discussing them.

October 13th: Mercury enters Scorpio

As the last major ingress before eclipse season comes to a close, Mercury enters Scorpio and asks us to think critically about what’s unfolded for us over the past several weeks. If there were things that went unsaid…we might be lamenting that now and looking to settle perceived slights. This is an obsessive mental energy so it’s important to be aware of fixations within conversations or repeating what someone said without knowing the full truth. Truth is an interesting concept for Scorpio energy and includes a lot of shadow work to know the complete depths.

October 17th: Full Moon in Aries 24°

This lunation marks the first one since the eclipses began and signals the close of eclipse season. In a way, it’s a return to “regularly scheduled programming” and should feel less intense than the past two big lunations. This Full Moon is ruled by Mars, though, so it’s a safe bet to still expect some intense feelings to surface! Mars is in Cancer at this time…so feelings will be the key word. Let yourself release so you can move forward.

October 17th: Venus enters Sagittarius

The same day as the fiery full moon, we have Venus entering fellow fire sign Sagittarius. This gives an extremely passionate slant to the day’s happenings and makes them that much louder. Venus in Sagittarius wants to go on a grand adventure and isn’t afraid to be the loudest person in the restaurant. Good times should be celebrated unapologetically and taking up space is par for the course. If you’re feeling the love, don’t hesitate to express yourself with big, romantic gestures and don’t be surprised if you’re met with some as well.
